ARI Faculty Strategic Advisory Board

The ARI has a close relationship with thought leaders and academics from across the University of Illinois community. As members of the Faculty Strategic Advisory Board (FSAB), they help the ARI build coalitions within the campus and with outside partners. The FSAB is currently: 

Rob Rutenbar, Chairman of the Board

Rob Rutenbar is the Abel Bliss Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is an affiliate professor in the University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and member of the Coordinated Sciences Lab

Andrew Alleyne (MechSE, AFRL)

Andrew Alleyne is the Ralph and Catherine Fisher Professor and Associate Head of Undergraduate Programs in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois. Dr. Alleyne is also involved with the Air Force Research Laboratory. 

William King (MechSE)

William King is Abel Bliss Professor and Director of Nano-CEMMS in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois.

John Rogers (MatSE, MNTL)

John Rogers is Swanlund Chair and Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, as well as Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Frederick Seitz Materials Research Laboratory.

Steve Downie (GSLIS)

J. Stephen Downie is a Professor and Associate Dean for Research in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois. 

Paul Braun (MatSE)

Paul Braun is Ivan Racheff Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois.

Jennifer Bernhard (ECE)

Jennifer Bernhard is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Associate Dean for Research in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois. 

Gene Robinson (Director, IGB)

Gene E. Robinson is the Director of the Institute for Genomic Biology. He holds a Swanlund Chair at the University of Illinois. He also holds affiliate appointments in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology, the Program in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology, and the Beckman Institute of Science and Technology.

Gary Eden (ECE)

J. Gary Eden is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois, and is Director of the Laboratory for Optical Physics and Engineering.
