Matthew Berry is a Lead Software Engineer at the Illinois Applied Research Institute in its program for visual analytics for systems medicine. He has 17+ years of experience developing innovative, reliable, and sustainable software solutions. Most recently he worked as a software engineering consultant for a number of clients, including the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), developing analysis platforms and data mining tools.
Before that, he worked from 2004 to 2011 as a Technical Lead at RiverGlass, where he developed software components and directed teams of software engineers responsible for backend development and maintenance of new and existing products.
While a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1997 to 2003, where he earned both an M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Berry conducted research on digital signal processing for biomedical applications.
