Xiaoxia Liao is a Senior Software Engineer at the Illinois Applied Research Institute, working in the ARI’s Visual Analytics Program for Systems Medicine group. She has many years of experience as a software engineer in both industry and at the University of Illinois. Before joining the ARI, she worked at the University of Illinois Administrative Information Technology Services (AITS) as a member of its software application development team. She also worked at the University’s central IT unit as a lead software developer.
Xiaoxia’s industry experience includes a tenure at Riverglass from 2005 to 2011 as a senior software engineer, responsible for developing software code for search engines and remote server management web application. Before that, she was a senior software engineer at webMethods Inc. in Silicon Valley from 2000 to 2005, specializing in enterprise application integration.
She earned an M.S. in Mathematics with Computer Science option at Eastern Kentucky University. Her undergraduate degree, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, was earned from East China University of Science and Technology.
